Persicaria bistorta is a strong, perennial plant with gray-green foliage and striking, cylindrical flower spikes that bloom from late spring to midsummer in a beautiful pink to purplish-red. This robust plant is ideal for moist borders, natural gardens, and pond edges, where it adds height and structure. Persicaria bistorta grows best in a sunny to partially shaded location in well-moist, fertile soil. The plant is low-maintenance, winter-hardy, and attracts bees and butterflies.
