Symphytum grandiflorum is a strong, fast-growing perennial with large, rough green leaves and striking, creamy-yellow to light-yellow flowers that appear in early spring. This plant is ideal as a groundcover in semi-shaded to shady borders, under shrubs, and in natural gardens, where it quickly forms dense growth and suppresses weeds. Symphytum grandiflorum grows best in moist, humus-rich, and well-drained soil and is low-maintenance, hardy, and particularly valuable for early insects.
