Yews are the oldest trees in Europe. Their hard yet elastic wood has always been appreciated by people, but the plants also have a long tradition as ornamental trees, because they combine practically all the good qualities a gardener could wish for: yew is evergreen, fast-growing, low-maintenance, easy to cut, and frost-resistant. No wonder yews are still popular ornamental trees in the garden today. And a yew hedge around the property as protection from noise and dust from the street or as a privacy screen to the adjacent plot is a particularly elegant decoration for the garden. And an extremely long life, as yews can get very, very old. Crown your garden with a dense, beautiful dark green hedge - we offer you 1 meter of European yew in a practical pack of 6!

Sun or shade? The yew tolerates everything.
However, if the European yew were allowed to choose its own site, it would prefer shady rather than overly sunny spots. It makes no special demands on the soil, but it must be humus-rich, nutritious, and, above all, permeable, as waterlogging is one of the few things a European yew responds to unintentionally. In principle, yews can be planted all year round, but spring is ideal for planting a new hedge, as the plants then take root well by autumn and survive the first winter without any problems. Do not plant the yew too deep in the ground; the top of the root balls should be level with the soil surface.

Virtually unbeatable versatility.
The European yew is not only ideal as an opaque hedge, it has always been popular as an uncomplicated topiary. Spheres, pyramids, squares - you can give the plants any shape you want. And which will become an eye-catcher in your garden - at any time of year.
