Contacts - The Value of a Phone Call
The telephone, one of the greatest inventions we might need to rediscover. With all the new technological updates, perhaps no one has told you yet, but almost all phones, whether new or old, have a hidden feature: the voice call.
Yes, I’m referring to the classic phone call. Not a chat, not a text, not a voice message or a video call, but that old and beloved voice call, which now seems almost forgotten.
I know, maybe I’m a bit nostalgic, but there was something special about hearing someone’s voice on the other end of the line. Just from the tone, you could sense the mood, whether there was urgency, happiness, or concern. The phone call was a simple and direct way to say: "I’m here, I’m available."
Believe it or not, we used to not even know who was calling, and that’s why we answered with "Hello". It was a way of saying: "I’m here, I’m ready to listen." Today, we’re all too busy, distracted by countless notifications and technologies. But this isn’t a complaint, just an observation.
If you’d like to call me, my number is +39 3911030049. I will sincerely answer, "Hello". And if I may give you a piece of advice, call someone dear to you as well, surprise them with a phone call. Listen to their voice and ask sincerely: "How are you today?"
It may not always work wonders right away, but a simple phone call could brighten someone’s day. Definitely mine, and maybe yours too.
And what do plants have to do with this? Well, plants are sensitive, they communicate in their own quiet way. Those who care for them learn to understand their needs, even without words. We, on the other hand, have the privilege of using words. So let’s use them, to speak and to listen.
