How a New Product is Born: Terrarium Luce Filomena

There are many ways to create a new product, but my approach began with a deep passion and knowledge of plants and ecosystem balance. First, I studied plants thoroughly and how they behave in a closed environment to understand how to maintain a self-sustaining ecosystem inside a terrarium.

With several terrariums already available in my shop, I decided to take a closer look at what the market offered. I noticed that while many terrariums are available, not all manage to create an authentic, balanced ecosystem. Often, they are simply decorative objects, with little attention given to building a self-sustaining environment. This insight motivated me to stand out by creating a terrarium that would not only be aesthetically pleasing but also add value as a complete decorative element.

The Idea of a Terrarium with Integrated Light

I wanted my product to be unique and functional. Thus, the idea was born to combine the natural beauty of a terrarium with an integrated lighting system to create a unique and atmospheric experience. The light not only enhances the terrarium’s aesthetics but also adds warmth and harmony to the surrounding space.

Collaboration with Local Artisans

To bring this vision to life, I work closely with local artisans to develop custom-made, high-quality elements. The goal is to blend the natural appeal of the terrarium with handcrafted details, such as a handmade lampshade and a unique lamp holder with a side outlet, for an elegant and functional design. Each piece is crafted to add character and sophistication to the terrarium, transforming it into a true decorative piece.

Future Innovations

The project doesn’t stop here. With new materials and ideas, we’re working to make our terrariums even more unique. Soon, we will introduce closures made of high-quality, hand-turned wood, adding a natural and artisanal touch. The goal is to frame the terrarium with an elegant wooden base of the same material, creating a perfect balance between nature and design.

A Project in Constant Evolution

This is an ongoing project: as new elements are ready, they will be added to our collection available in the shop. We are always open to comments and suggestions, as well as specific requests for custom terrariums.
